In the US, a fire broke out at a fertilizer plant in The State of Winston Salem in North Carolina on Monday night. After which 6 thousand people were evacuated from the 1 km radius of the plant. At the time of the accident, more than 600 tons of ammonium nitrate was present in the plant, but it was believed that no one was killed or injured. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Winston Salem's fire brigade head, Trey Mayo, said: "The matter is so serious that I can't describe it in words. At the time of the fire, the plant contained more than 600 tons of ammonium nitrate. Earlier in 2013, 240 tons of ammonium nitrate exploded at a plant in Texas. After which 200 houses in the area were destroyed and 15 people were killed.
Fire breaks out in loading dock

At the time of the accident, there was so much explosive in the plant that if there was an explosion, the ground in an area of one kilometer would be flat.
